Emagia announces Six Sigma solution for Collections and Deductions Management

Leading cash flow management solution provider brings rigorous operational standards to receivables management

Santa Clara, Calif. September 30, 2003 - Emagia, the leading cash flow management solution provider, today announced its Six Sigma based solution for receivables management. Six Sigma is a rigorous business methodology that allows companies to measure and considerably improve operational performance. The basis for achieving Six Sigma process standards is a sharp focus on reducing defects, lowering variance in business performance and facilitating continuous process improvements.

With Emagia, the discipline of the Six Sigma methodology is brought to the area of receivables management. A key approach within Six Sigma is DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), which seeks to deliver significant improvements to existing business processes. Emagia's solution dovetails with this approach by providing powerful cash flow analytics, collections automation and leading edge cash forecasting tools to a Six Sigma based receivables organization.

"Emagia brings business critical capabilities that accelerate and ensure success for Six Sigma initiatives," said Mike Backlund, Emagia's chief executive officer. "In response to the growing number of companies that are striving to establish thorough and precise standards in their finance and accounting departments, Emagia has developed the best solution that also delivers quick results." A number of industry leading companies have launched initiatives to bring Six Sigma standards to the receivables management function. Volt Information Sciences, a strong proponent of Six Sigma, chose the Emagia solution as the key enabler for its collections department. Emagia's other customers include many of the Fortune 2000 including Solectron, Network Associates, Celestica, Atofina Chemicals, Syngenta, Xilinx and Leiner Health Products.
