Advanced Fibre Communications Selects Emagia To Improve Cash Flow Management

Industry Leader in Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturing To Deploy Emagia Collaborative Finance Suite

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 4, 2002 - Emagia Corporation, the enterprise cash flow management solutions company, today announced that Advanced Fibre Communications®, Inc. (AFC®) (Nasdaq: AFCI), an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of next-generation edge access equipment and multiservice broadband solutions for the telecommunications industry, has selected Emagia's cash flow management software to gain better visibility and control over its accounts receivables.

AFC, which has more than 800 telephone and service provider customers worldwide, selected Emagia Collaborative Finance Suite 2.3 to convert manual, spreadsheet-based processes to modern e-business tools. Additionally, the Petaluma, Calif.-based telecom equipment vendor seeks to use Collaborative Finance Suite to strengthen its ability to manage cash conversion cycles in an unpredictable economy.

"Having tight control of working capital can be the difference between success and failure, especially when markets are tough," said Keith Pratt, senior vice president and CFO of AFC. "Our goal is that by implementing Emagia's cash flow management solution, we will lower our operational costs and be poised for future growth."

AFC will use Collaborative Finance Suite to establish an e-business infrastructure that can scale with its finance department as revenues and collections activities increase. AFC expects greater accuracy in cash forecasting, increased collections efficiency and an increase in the operational efficiency of its finance and accounting departments.

"With Emagia, our cash flow processes not only can be automated for better efficiency, they can also be analyzed in greater depth for more informed decision making," said Pratt, who added that Emagia's Collaborative Finance Suite will be integrated with AFC's back-end financial system, BaaN, using pre-built adapters.

"We are pleased to add AFC to our growing list of customers," said Veena Gundavelli, president and CEO of Emagia. "Emagia customers typically realize a full return on their investment within just two months of going live, and we look forward to helping AFC do the same."
