Secure and Single Sign-on Access Enabled for Emagia Collaborative Finance Suite with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol

SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 19, 2002 - Emagia Corporation, the enterprise cash flow management solutions company, today announces integration to standard Light Weight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Version 3.0. This integration provides advanced security features for Emagia Collaborative Finance Suite that enable highly sophisticated authentication and access control for users over intranets, extranets and the Internet. It also allows Emagia applications to employ centralized user access control management and single sign-on access from enterprise portals.

LDAP provides an access protocol for Internet standard directory services. A directory is a specialized database that stores collections of information about network objects, such as users, access privileges for applications, files, and documents. LDAP compliance can pave the way for a centralized meta-directory that enables user management and provisioning in one place, through a unified management tool that also manages other network applications. The LDAP v3 uses the Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) authentication framework (RFC 2222) to allow highly sophisticated authentication mechanisms to be used with the LDAP.
