Cash-Flow Performance Management
Can companies rely on their business performance management software and ERP systems to deliver the visibility they need to optimize cash management processes? John Van Decker doesn't think so. He's senior vice president and principal research fellow with the Robert Frances Group, a Westport, Conn.-based IT analyst firm. "Research gathered from our large base of finance and IT clients proves that they do not have the automated tools to manage cash flow and working capital -- both inflows and outflows -- within their ERP systems, corporate performance management applications and legacy applications," Van Decker says. "Most use offline Excel-based processes to manage this, and many find this cumbersome and far from real-time."
Emagia Corp. aims to help companies address that problem with the release of Emagia Cash Flow Performance Management Suite 6.0. The product consolidates receivables and payables data into a centralized repository, extracting information from multiple ERP systems and spreadsheets. The data is then structured and normalized to provide users with the ability to slice and dice forecasts across multiple organizational units.
A new cash flow forecasting module provides predictive analytics, modeling and simulation capabilities, and variance analysis. Cash flow forecasts can be created using multiple criteria including historical trends, payment terms, promises-to-pay, disputes and returns. Users can monitor how well cash receipts and disbursements are actualizing with respect to forecasted values.
Emagia Cash Flow Performance Management Suite 6.0 also provides a Web and Microsoft Excel-based user interface.
